I got a special little treat this year when my friend Heather’s sister asked me to come to Madison, WI and photograph her wedding! As some of you know, before I was a photographer, I was a full time singer-songwriter and I lived in Indiana. I used to play shows all over the Midwest and my FAVORITE place to play in the whole wide world was a little coffeehouse called was Motherfool’s in Madison, WI! (Go there!) My friends Jon and Stephanie own it and it had been years since I’ve seen them so I really jumped at this opportunity. Since I’ve had the kids, I don’t do tons of destination weddings….only a select few…and though Madison might not seem as glamorous as Bali or Paris, France it’s that glamorous to me! I actually almost moved there instead of LA….
I had never met Sarah the day before her wedding but because she is Heather’s sister, I felt like I knew her. This was an incredibly fun day and I LOVE how the photos turned out. So much fun…and a great time in Madison with my friends as well. Also, when Sarah told me about the fireworks display….I just figured a few fireworks would go off. I didn’t realize it would be a 15 minute 4th of July display! Crazy! Also, another great thing about traveling is getting to meet shooters from that area. A big shout out to Jennifer from Ameila John Photography who was my 2nd and was just so fun and cool to meet!
And yes, they are two DENTISTS!

Beautiful pictures Kim! You did great! I’m thinking about having my reception at Bishop’s Bay…it’s so gorgeous. Were most of the outdoor pictures seen here taken at Bishops or were they taken somewhere else?

All the photos were at Bishops Bay but we drove to the back of the property and did photos there. I don’t remember the exact route but you would have to drive. It is on the property though (I’m pretty sure) so I am sure someone there could show you. I live in Los Angeles, but my best friends live in Madison so any excuse to come out if you need a photographer, so let me know! And congratulationa!

We are currently in Turks and Caicos trying to figure out which pictures to use for our wedding album…you took too many great pictures!!! Hopefully we will have narrowed it down soon.
