Rana and John’s Wedding – Luxe Sunset Hotel Bel Air Wedding

It rained and poured all day on Rana and John’s big day but I could not have had a sunnier bride and groom.    I must say, I had  a moment of panic when I realized that the only place I could possibly shoot at the Luxe Hotel was the lobby and  busy with a Sunday brunch.  Thank god, the honeymoon suite was available until the lobby cleared out.  Very stark and modern, the space looked like one I would rent for a model shoot….and with the looks of my subjects….I swear this is a real wedding!

Rana is the cousin of Cami, whose wedding I photographed 2 years ago and their family is like my personal PR team.  It was so wonderful seeing them, and really getting to know Rana’s family as well.  Her sister and brother are hysterical, her parents could not be more warm and lovely and her grandfather was out of this world hilarious!  John’s large family was lovely as well.

This was a more conservative Jewish wedding and John is a recent convert for love so one of the funniest moments of the night was when Rana’s brother joked to the non-Jews in the room that their family  “will get you one by one”.  Rain and all, this is one of those weddings that just emphasises what weddings are all about.  The love of the couple and the love from all the people around them.  It was truly an extraordinary night.
